Cold rolled carbon steel plate is a low carbon steel sheet made of hot rolled steel coils at room temperature through cold rolling process, with a thickness range of 0.15-4mm. Compared with hot rolled steel plates, the cold rolling process makes the surface finish of the material higher and the dimensional accuracy better through low temperature rolling and subsequent annealing treatment, while eliminating internal stress and significantly improving mechanical properties (such as tensile strength, yield strength) and ductility. Its low carbon content (≤0.12%) not only ensures good weldability, but also reduces the brittleness of the material, enabling it to withstand complex forming processes (such as deep drawing, bending, flanging, etc.), meeting the manufacturing needs of high-precision parts.
The company is committed to providing customers with high-quality, low-cost steel products and strives to create value for customers. With advanced processing equipment and a strong logistics and distribution system, it can meet customer needs at any time.
Cold-rolled carbon steel plate boasts an exceptionally smooth surface free from oxide scales, achieved through precise rolling at room temperature. This finish enhances paint adhesion, reduces post-processing requirements, and improves corrosion resistance compared to hot-rolled alternatives. The absence of surface defects makes it ideal for visible components in appliances, automotive panels, and architectural finishes.
Cold rolling tightens thickness tolerances and flatness, ensuring consistent dimensions critical for precision engineering. This accuracy minimizes material waste in stamping, welding, and assembly processes, particularly in high-volume manufacturing like automotive body parts or electronic enclosures. The process also eliminates thermal distortion risks associated with hot rolling.
The cold-working process induces strain hardening, increasing tensile strength (up to 550 MPa) and yield strength while maintaining ductility. This balance enables thinner gauges to replace thicker hot-rolled sheets without sacrificing structural integrity, reducing weight in applications like automotive chassis or machinery components.
Despite higher strength, cold-rolled carbon steel retains exceptional formability for deep drawing, bending, and shaping. This duality supports complex geometries in products such as beverage cans, automotive fuel tanks, and structural tubing, where material flow must be uniform to prevent tears or wrinkles during stamping.
Controlled cooling during cold rolling ensures homogeneous microstructures, eliminating variability in hardness or grain size. This consistency is critical for fatigue-sensitive applications like crankshafts or gears, where predictable performance under cyclic loading prevents premature failure.
Unlike hot-rolled steel, cold rolling avoids surface scaling and carbon depletion at edges. This preserves mechanical properties across the entire plate thickness, ensuring uniform weldability and heat-treatment response in components like pressure vessels or pipeline fittings.
The combination of surface quality, strength, and formability allows cold-rolled carbon steel to serve both structural and decorative roles. Applications range from exposed automotive trim (requiring corrosion resistance) to load-bearing industrial racks (demanding high strength-to-weight ratios).
While initial processing costs are higher than hot rolling, cold-rolled steel’s precision reduces secondary machining and material usage. This makes it economically advantageous for mass-produced items like household appliances, where per-unit savings accumulate significantly.
Cold-rolled carbon steel plate is pivotal in automotive production, used for body panels, chassis components, and structural parts. Its high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and formability enable lightweight designs while maintaining crash safety standards, critical for modern vehicles.
Widely adopted in refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners, cold-rolled steel provides a smooth, corrosion-resistant surface ideal for exterior casings. Its dimensional stability ensures precise assembly, while its weldability supports complex internal framework construction.
Used in roofing, wall cladding, and structural frameworks, cold-rolled steel offers superior flatness and durability. Its resistance to environmental degradation makes it suitable for architectural elements requiring long-term aesthetics and structural integrity, such as modern façades and modular buildings.
Critical for food and beverage cans, cold-rolled steel provides hermetic sealing and corrosion resistance, preserving product freshness. Its deep-drawing capability allows complex geometries, while surface treatments enhance printability for branding and labeling.
Employed in aircraft fuselages, wing structures, and engine components, cold-rolled steel’s high tensile strength and fatigue resistance meet stringent safety protocols. Its machinability supports precision parts like landing gear and hydraulic systems.
Marine-grade cold-rolled steel resists saltwater corrosion, making it ideal for hulls, decks, and offshore platforms. Its weldability ensures leak-proof seams, while its impact toughness withstands harsh oceanic conditions.
Used in servers, computers, and consumer electronics, cold-rolled steel provides electromagnetic shielding and thermal dissipation. Its precision stamping capabilities produce aesthetically pleasing casings with tight tolerances.
From solar panel frames to oil pipelines, cold-rolled steel’s durability and formability suit renewable energy infrastructure and hydrocarbon transport. Its resistance to UV degradation and chemical exposure ensures reliability in extreme environments.
Modern desks, chairs, and cabinetry utilize cold-rolled steel for sleek, minimalist designs. Its powder-coated finishes resist scratches, while its load-bearing capacity supports ergonomic and industrial furniture applications.
Ideal for medical devices and laboratory equipment, cold-rolled steel’s dimensional stability and vibration resistance ensure accuracy. Its non-magnetic variants are critical for MRI components and sensitive electronic instruments.
